DESCRIPTION:Domestic Terrorism & Radicalization to Violent Extremism \nHosted By \nLaw Enforcement Officers Regional Training Commission \n This relevant and timely training will provide law enforcement officers with an introductory overview of numerous domestic terror indicators and criminally subversive subcultures encountered by law               enforcement professionals on a daily basis.  The course will provide a definition of violent extremism and focus on identifying individuals and groups who attempt to advance social or political beliefs                   through force or violence. \n Course Description: Law enforcement professionals will be educated on the First Amendment and the Constitutional protections afforded to all groups discussed.  At the conclusion of the course                   attendees will be trained to identify racially and ideologically motivated behavior and discern between criminal activity and First Amendment protected speech and actions. \nAt the end of this course\, participants will be able to: \n\n identify racially motivated violent extremism\, associated symbols and ideologies\n understand and predict the dynamics of encounters with ideologically motivated subcultures\n complete safe\, competent and thorough investigations involving criminally subversive groups and/or racially motivated individuals\n define\, explain\, and train fellow officers on the recruitment tactics and social media platforms most commonly used by the individuals and groups discussed.\n\n Date: April 23\, 2026 8:30 am – 4:30 pm \n Location: Flint Township Police Department – 5200 Norko Dr. Flint\, MI 48507 \n Instructor: Rob Finch is an active North Carolina Detective and decorated investigator with over 20 years’ experience working in a large criminal intelligence unit.
