SUMMARY:Motor Vehicle Code Update
DESCRIPTION:This eight hour training for law enforcement officers will provide updated information pertaining to law enforcement utilizing the Michigan Vehicle Code.  This course will also serve as an update and refresher for the patrol officers where they will receive an overview of traffic engineering principles and discover some of the issues involved in setting speed limits and the posting of traffic control devices. \nInstructor:  Lt. SUMMARY:Trace Evidence Collection
DESCRIPTION:This course will provide participants with an understanding of how the collection of trace evidence at crime scenes; to include autopsies and vehicle processing\, on a routine basis can aid in successful criminal investigations.  Trace evidence becomes particularly valuable in cases where latent prints and DNA fail to provide an identification of a suspect.  Emphasis will be placed on the proper techniques for collection and packaging of trace evidence.  Case studies will be presented and hands-on collection methods will be practiced. \nTopics Include: \n\nLocard’s Exchange Theory\nFiber Transfer\nPaint Transfer\nPhysical Match\nGlass\nFire Debris\nMiscellaneous/Unknown\nFootwear (as time permits)\n\nInstructor:  Jennifer Dillon is a Forensic Scientist assigned to the Michigan State Police- Trace Evidence Unit in Northville\, Michigan.  She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forensic Criminalistics and toxicology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice\, New York\, NY.  She has also completed additional course work in Molecular Biology. \nClass Size limited to 35 \nLocation:  Grand Blanc Township Police Department\, 5405 S.
