SUMMARY:Tactical Field Operations - Man Tracking
DESCRIPTION:This training program focuses on perimeter containment of Fleeing Subjects while utilizing Man-Tracking skills\, deploying K-9\, utilization of aviation support\, and possibly LPOP’s (Listening Points / Observation Points). These techniques are also utilized for Lost and Missing Persons. \nThis training would be valuable for all officers\, supervisors\, and command staff. Training components of this program include: \n\nThe Psychological Profiles of Fleeing Subjects / Lost & Missing Persons issues are taught to assist in understanding early search variables.\nFor Fleeing Subjects\, the Leap Frogging technique is utilized to shorten the time / distance gap.\nOther areas to be covered would be utilization of a compass\, GPS\, Downed Officer Reaction/solutions\, and arrest procedure upon contact.\n\nMost of the two-days of training will be outside in a variety of conditions and areas. There will also be a lot of physical activity in various terrains. Participants must be prepared by dressing appropriately for the conditions and physical activity (including footwear and headwear). \nInstructors:    Rudi Nitschmann\, U.S. Army – S.R.T. and retired after 29 years of service with \nthe M.S.P.  MSP Emergency Support Team Member for 26 years.  Level II \nCertified Man-Tracking Instructor. \nRichard Casanova\, U.S.M.C. – Infantry / Intel Field – 10 years.  MSP \nEmergency Support Team Member for 18 years.  Currently has 23 years of \nservice with the MSP. \nClass size:                 Limited to 12\,  additional registrations will be placed on a waiting list. \nLocation:                   Crossroads Village\, 6140 Bray Road\, Flint\, MI   48505 \nCost:                           LEORTC Licensed Members – Prepaid \nAll Others – $150 per person \nClick HERE to Register \n“This training has been registered with MCOLES for the use of PA 302 Law Enforcement Distribution funds.”

Mr. Maatman has over 40 years of law enforcement experience.  He is a retired Lieutenant from the Lansing Police Department and also retired from the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office as a Major.  Mr. Maatman has been an Autism Safety Trainer since 2017 and a big supporter of Autism Training for Law Enforcement since 2011. \nMAST is endorsed by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and the Michigan Sheriffs’ Association \nThere are two (2) sessions on this date\, 10am – 1pm or 4pm – 7pm. \nCost:  Certified members – no cost\, Non-certified members $25 p/p\, All others $35 p/p \nClick HERE to Register
