DESCRIPTION:This course will cover:  Post-Traumatic Stress indicators and management; surviving gunshot wounds; survivor guilt\, new killers in the 21st century. Important drills that nobody practices; violent visual imagery; reality vs. fantasy; games that are more dangerous than movies. \nLt. Col. Dave Grossman is a former West Point psychology and military science professor\, and an Army Ranger\, who has combined his experiences to become the founder of a new field of scientific endeavor\, which has been termed “killology.” In this new field Col. Grossman has made revolutionary new contributions to our understanding of killing in was\, the psychological costs of war\, the root causes of the current “virus” of violent crime that is raging around the world\, and the process of healing the victims of violence\, in war and peace. DESCRIPTION:CLASS CANCELED – Please see our calendar for additional dates \nParticipants will start the day at Mott College – Clio and after instruction proceed to Auto City Speedway. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis 1-day refresher will provide a review of the laws and policies related to emergency vehicle operation\, pursuits\, and the proper course of action based on related circumstances. \nThis training should be taken by officers that have not had the course within the last three years. \nAs a matter of safety\, and as a condition of participation\, officers will be asked to sign the Course Rules Memorandum. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn addition to the regular skills review\, students will participate in a pursuit check ride with an instructor. Students are required to attend all class hours and successfully complete the course to receive a certificate. \nEquipment Needed: –Department police car in proper operating condition \n-Uniform of the day (recommended) \n-Duty belt and body armor (recommended) \nLoose items must be removed from the trunk and passenger compartments of the vehicles. \nNo more than two officers per vehicle. \nNo shorts\, sandals\, or pocket weapons. \nInstructor:              LEORTC Member Certified EVO Instructors \nClass Size:               Limited to 16 \nCost:                        LEORTC Member Licensed Officers – Prepaid Non-Member Agencies – $150.00 p/p \nRegistration:           Spots are limited\, register early. \nClick HERE to Register \n“This training has been registered with MCOLES for the use of PA 302 Law Enforcement Distribution funds.”
