DESCRIPTION:The Michigan Department of State Police Firearms Records Unit is pleased to offer License to Purchase\nand Firearm Disqualifications training. This training is specifically designed for law enforcement agency\nstaff responsible for making the determination whether or not to issue a License to Purchase a Pistol a\nPistol (LTP).\nClassroom instruction will focus on the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act and the Michigan\nFirearms Act of 1927\, as amended\, and the impacts each have on an individual’s ability to obtain a LTP.\nA thorough review of all disqualification statutes is included and factors to consider in denying a LTP are\ndiscussed in depth.
