DESCRIPTION:This program presents a practical way of surviving an ambush. The officer will be able to identify the signs of an upcoming ambush\, avoid the conflict and survive. The practical application of concepts of baseline\, above and below baseline will be addressed. Pre-attack indicators will be explained as well as the importance of movement versus static response. SUMMARY:Emergency Vehicle Operation
DESCRIPTION:Participants will start the day at Mott Community College – Northern Tier in Clio and after instruction proceed to Auto City Speedway. \nThis 1-day refresher will provide a review of the laws and policies related to emergency vehicle operation\, pursuits\, and the proper course of action based on related circumstances. This training should be taken by officers that have not had the course within the last three years. As a matter of safety\, and as a condition of participation\, officers will be asked to sign the Course Rules Memorandum. \nIn addition to the regular skills review\, students will participate in a pursuit check ride with an instructor. Students are required to attend all class hours and successfully complete the course to receive a certificate. Equipment Needed: –Department police car in proper operating condition -Uniform of the day (recommended) -Duty belt and body armor (recommended) Loose items must be removed from the trunk and passenger compartments of the vehicles. No more than two officers per vehicle.
