SUMMARY:Emergency Breaching for Patrol Officers-THIS CLASS IS CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:THIS CLASS IS CANCELED \nThis course focuses on Mechanical Breaching for Patrol Officers in Exigent Circumstances / Emergency Exceptions. \nThis is a four hour course with the majority of the course being hands on.  Students will have the unique opportunity to make repetitive breaches on a breaching door designed to simulate different levels of resistance. \nStudents will have the opportunity to breach the door with various tools\, including ram and hooligan tool.  The door is also designed for students to deal with hinge strikes along with simulated armor guard and doors that open out.  The students will be instructed in the proper techniques in using the ram\, hooligan\, and other tool for various situations. \nThere will also be discussion in shotgun breaching and other techniques.  Shotgun breaching will be simulated with shotguns utilizing snap caps. \nThe majority of instruction is outdoors and it is suggested that students dress appropriately for the weather in departmental approved clothing.  Students will be required to have gloves and eye protection. \nTools will be provided but it is suggested that students bring any departmental tools that might be used in these situations.  It is also suggested that students bring a departmental shotgun. \nInstructors:  Rudi Nitschmann retired from the Michigan State Police after 29 years as a Trooper with 26 years on the Emergency Support Team.  Rudi is an expert in Tactical Field Operations Training\, Level 2 and Instructor\, Rapid Response Instructor\, Tubular Assault Instructor and Field Craft Instructor. \nRichard Casanova retired after 23 years with the Michigan State Police and 19 years on the MSP Emergency Support Team and over 800 tactical activation’s.  Rich is a Krav Maga\, Defensive Tactics\, Sniper/Counter Sniper\, QUAD\, and Tubular Assault Instructor. \nDate/Time:     Tuesday\, September 15\, 2020 (Two 4 hour class offerings) \n8 am – 12 pm (or) 1 pm – 5 pm \nLocation:         Flint Twp. DESCRIPTION:THIS CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED \nThe League of Michigan Bicyclists will host training’s across Michigan designed to teach safe bicycling practices. Although portions of the training are geared towards law enforcement\, all interested members of the community are invited to attend. The full training consists of two components: a morning classroom session focused on community bicycle safety\, and a hands-on afternoon session designed to teach the proper execution of bicycle rodeos. In class\, we’ll cover these topics: \n\nThe latest statistics on bicycle/motorist crashes as well as information on how these crashes can be prevented.\nThe Michigan Compiled Laws relating to motorist\, pedestrian\, and bicycle traffic on Michigan’s roadways and sidewalks.\nBest practices for community education and enforcement of these laws.\nEngineering remedies that\, in addition to law enforcement and education\, help to make the road safer for bicycle traffic to coexist with motorized traffic.\n\nIf you work in law enforcement or are otherwise interested in learning more about bicycle safety\, please join us! \nInstructor:  Erin Sloan-Turner is the Education Coordinator for the League of Michigan Bicyclists. SUMMARY:Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)
DESCRIPTION:The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course was developed from the military Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training. SUMMARY:Tactical Field Operations - Man Tracking
DESCRIPTION:This training program focuses on perimeter containment of Fleeing Subjects while utilizing Man-Tracking skills\, deploying K-9\, utilization of aviation support\, and possibly LPOP’s (Listening Points / Observation Points). These techniques are also utilized for Lost and Missing Persons. \nThis training would be valuable for all officers\, supervisors\, and command staff. Training components of this program include: \n\nThe Psychological Profiles of Fleeing Subjects / Lost & Missing Persons issues are taught to assist in understanding early search variables.\nFor Fleeing Subjects\, the Leap Frogging technique is utilized to shorten the time / distance gap.\nOther areas to be covered would be utilization of a compass\, GPS\, Downed Officer Reaction/solutions\, and arrest procedure upon contact.\n\nMost of the two-days of training will be outside in a variety of conditions and areas. There will also be a lot of physical activity in various terrains. DESCRIPTION:This program is part of the Crime Prevention Specialist Series.  Each program in the series is a standalone seminar.  Participants that complete all seminars in the series will be granted a Crime Prevention Specialist Certificate. \nRecent incidents of violence in religious institutions have forced religious leaders to re-exam security measures.
