DESCRIPTION:The use of surveillance can be a much overlooked tool in criminal identification and investigation process. DESCRIPTION:** This course has been reviewed and approved by the United States Department of Justice** \nTHIS COURSE IS MCOLES REGISTERED FOR 302 FUNDING \nThis is a classroom based combat-confrontation avoidance course based upon the L.O.C.K.U.P. ® System. It teaches within a classroom setting how to recognize aggression and to not stimulate aggression. Students will learn communications skills and evidence based Active Diffusion Strategies that can avoid or resolve interactions by employing tactical de-escalation the techniques\, conflict resolution methods and distraction techniques that promote successful tactical applications.  The course also discusses tactical responses when diffusion tactics are inappropriate or ineffective. DESCRIPTION:The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course was developed from the military Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training. SUMMARY:Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)
DESCRIPTION:The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course was developed from the military Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training. TECC is adapted to provide operators with battlefield proven trauma care information and techniques due to hostile action\, particularly penetrating trauma. \nStudents will be emailed study material prior to the course.  Students will be provided with an electronic version of the military TCCC Tactical Combat Casualty Care handbook to study.  The TCCC skill set for “Deploying Combatants” information will be presented in the TECC course.  The TCCC handbook covers both basic and advanced level material.  The TECC course will only address the basic level material related to “Deploying Combatants.”  Please study only that material.  Students are encouraged to bring any medical gear they carry on duty and they may also bring ballistic or tactical vests. \nTHIS IS A HANDS-ON TRAINING COURSE…… \nClass Size:  Limited to 14 \nCost:  LEORTC member licensed officers – Prepaid \nAll Others – $95.00 p/p \nInstructor:  Rick Holland\, Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor.  Rick has provided training to a multitude of agencies on a local\, state\, and national level.  \nThis class is registered with MCOLES for 302 funding. \nClick HERE to Register

SUMMARY:Abandoned Vehicle Law Update
DESCRIPTION:This course will familiarize police officers\, records specialists\, property managers and other law enforcement personnel that are tasked with dealing with abandoned vehicles\, with the changes to the laws and procedures pertaining with this topic. It will provide information for the proper processing\, potential criminal violations and civil liability. This also will help facilitate communication between law enforcement and the towing industry. \nInstructor:  Lt. Lance Cook\, Lt. SUMMARY:Cold Case Homicide Investigations
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nCOLD CASE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATIONS\n\n\n\n  \nThe objective of this class is to describe in detail investigative techniques which have successfully solved several old\, cold\, unsolved\, homicide cases.  This course will include a discussion of not only the techniques and strategies utilized\, but also a comprehensive case study analysis\, which utilizes real life\, practical experiences to demonstrate how difficult and previously thought unsolvable cases could in fact be solved.  Although the primary focus is on cold case homicides\, the practical value from this seminar carries over to all aspects of criminal investigation and is designed to make participants better all-around investigators. \n  \nTopics to Include: \n\nTheory Behind Cold Cases\nStrategies\, Techniques\, and Themes of Investigation\nCase Selection\nFunding of Cold Case Units\nCase Studies\nMuch more\n\n  \nPresenter:       Stuart Fenton\, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Attorney for Emmet County.  Mr. Fenton has been a prosecutor for over 30 years and was assigned to a cold case investigative team from 1996-2001.  He has spent 6 years as the Investigative Subpoena and Cold Case Homicide attorney for the Kalamazoo’s office.  He successfully tried 6 cold murder cases\, each averaging 15 years old. \nCost:                LEORTC Member – Prepaid \nAll Others – $75 per person \nClick HERE to Register \n“This training has been registered with MCOLES for the use of PA 302 Law Enforcement Distribution funds.”
