SUMMARY:Tactical Field Operations - Man Tracking
DESCRIPTION:This training program focuses on perimeter containment of Fleeing Subjects while utilizing Man-Tracking skills\, deploying K-9\, utilization of aviation support\, and possibly LPOP’s (Listening Points / Observation Points). These techniques are also utilized for Lost and Missing Persons.\nThis training would be valuable for all officers\, supervisors\, and command staff.\n.\nTraining components of this program include:\n\nThe Psychological Profiles of Fleeing Subjects / Lost & Missing Persons issues are taught to assist in understanding early search variables.\n\nFor Fleeing Subjects\, the Leap Frogging technique is utilized to shorten the time /distance gap.\n\nOther areas to be covered would be utilization of a compass\, GPS\, Downed Officer Reaction/solutions\, and arrest procedure upon contact.\n.\nMost of the two-days of training will be outside in a variety of conditions and areas. SUMMARY:Emergency Vehicle Operation

SUMMARY:Emergency Vehicle Operation

SUMMARY:Background Investigations for Michigan Police Applicants
DESCRIPTION:State statutes require law enforcement agencies to conduct thorough and comprehensive background investigations of those who will be licensed as fully empowered law enforcement officers in the state of Michigan. A comprehensive background investigation is perhaps the most important component of the hiring process because it helps agencies select only those who are the best fit for both the organization and the communities they serve. In 2019\, the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards adopted an Advisory Standard to assist investigators in their efforts to obtain the necessary and relevant information on an applicant’s background\, as part of the agency’s overall selection and hiring process. Thorough work done at the beginning of the hiring process\, with attention to detail\, can help agencies select the right applicant for the right reasons. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with useful information and resources that will assist them in conducting a thorough background investigation. DESCRIPTION:Approximately every three hours a train collision occurs in the United States often requiring assistance of first responders at the scene of an incident.  The collision scene may be complex and consist of a variety of safety concerns for first responders. \nThis Railroad Investigation and Safety Course provides first responders with critical information allowing them to effectively respond to and safely investigate incidents involving the railroad. \nMODULE 1:         Rail Safety Training 101 – Safety issues in the railroad environment.  Signs and signals at a railroad crossing.  Developing advanced preparation information.  Railroad contacts and facilities. \nMODULE 2:         Safety considerations while responding to an incident.  Ensuring on-scene safety.  Identifying your location. SUMMARY:Courtroom Testimony for Police/Corrections Officers

DESCRIPTION:    Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE)\nThe course includes a SFST refresher that is recommended every 3 years. \nThe purpose of the 16-hour Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course is to increase officer ability to observe\, identify\, and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs\, alcohol\, or a combination of both. This training also encompasses the 4 hour Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) Refresher training. \nRequirements to attend: \n\nPolice Officers\, Motor Carrier Officers\, or Prosecutors only.  **Other individuals will not be allowed to attend**\nStudents must provide on day one valid documentation of 24 hour SFST Practitioner Training to attend. Acceptable documentation includes: SFST card\, certificate of training\, police academy graduate after January 1\, 2010.\nStudents must demonstrate proficiency in HGN\, walk and turn\, and one leg stand at the conclusion of the SFST refresher segment.
