SUMMARY:Rental Communities Crime Prevention
DESCRIPTION:This course is open to both members of public safety and civilian apartment complex managers and single-family rental unit landlords.   This four hour seminar will offer participants a fresh approach to reducing 911 calls for service and increasing tenant’s quality of life through tried and true best practices and case studies. \nAttendees will learn that there are three important principles to deterring crime and creating rental community efficiency. \nPartnerships- Neither Police Officers\, Rental Community Management\, nor Residents can fight crime and quality of life issues alone.  A reciprocated union is required to fix reoccurring issues and the only way to find success is through a collaborative effort. \nPrevention- The understanding that prevention is always better than having to seek a cure.  This is accomplished through critical risk assessments put into action to achieve a preventative goal. \nParticipation- The realization that crime is a community problem which requires everyone working together to reduce or prevent it.  This is the true essence of the police and citizen partnership and only when put into actual practice can cooperative strategies be implemented to fix reoccurring problems.  Total success and profitability can be realized when all stakeholders become involved. \nInstructor:   Chris Fredenburg of the Saginaw Township Police Department.  He is an Advanced Crime Prevention Specialist and has extensive experience working with rental communities both with large tenant occupancy and small duplex and single-family rental units. \nCost (each class):               LEORTC Member:  Prepaid      Civilian Participants: $35.00 \nNon-Members:  $65.00 \nLocation (all classes):       Grand Blanc Twp. SUMMARY:Reading People: Becoming a Body Language Expert
DESCRIPTION:This training is made possible through the generous donations of the F.O.P. Arrowhead Lodge \nAt its core\, police work is a human behavior profession.  Your job is to successfully assess the emotional and physical state of a person.  Are they dangerous? Are they in need?  Are they emotionally or physically in crisis.  Are they perpetrators or victims?  And you must do this all in the blink of an eye. \nThe only way to accomplish that is to become a master at controlling\, redirecting\, and influencing other people’s behavior which begins with Reading People. \nThis one-day seminar will teach officers how to better evaluate body language by accurately reading conscious and unconscious cues\, spotting lies and detecting true deception. \nWe will discuss: \n\nYou Won’t Know What to Look For if You Don’t Know How it Works\nLearn Consciously What the Unconscious Already Knows\nHow are You Coming Across?? Aggressive? Uncaring? Accusatory? Empathetic?\nThe Signs: Will You See What The Body is Saying?\nLearn the Importance of Judging Your Observation and Assessments\nBody Parts: The Eyes\, The Hands\, The Face and the Feet\nThe Importance of Your Own Body Language\nThe Mehrabian Model: Most of the Message is in the Delivery\nThe Key to Active Listening\n\n Instructor:  James Glennon of Calibre Press Training Network  \nDate & Time:           Wednesday\, September 20\, 2023\, 8:00am-5:00pm \nLocation:                  Mott Community College Regional Technology Center 124-132 Albert R Horrigan Dr\, Flint\, MI 48503 \nCost:                          LEORTC Licensed Members – Pre-paid \nLEORTC Members (non-licensed) – $150 \nAll Others – $199 \nClick HERE to Register \n“This training has been registered with MCOLES for the use of PA 302 Law Enforcement Distribution funds.”
