RAIDER exposes first-on-scene responders to the tactical skills necessary to operate in the unique Active Shooter setting – a hostile environment, populated by large numbers of civilians, with an Active Shooter attempting to achieve the highest body count possible in the shortest amount of time. This 8-hour course educates officers on how to manage the aftermath of an officer-involved shooting, focusing on both the immediate response and long-term well-being. This includes understanding potential psychological and physical reactions, learning about available resources, and familiarizing themselves with investigation procedures.
This 3.5-day course is designed to provide knowledge and training to develop Field Training Officers’ skills. Each new FTO will be presented with ideas and techniques to assist them in becoming more professional and confident in the application of their skills. This course is based on a modified “San Jose” program.
