This 8-hour course is applicable to all licensed law enforcement officers regardless of rank, providing understanding of LEOSA requirements, jurisdictional limitations, and potential drawbacks and consequences.

Instructors: Terry L. Johnson, J.D. is an accomplished attorney and firearms law expert with over 15 years of legal experience, and more than 7,000 trials conducted at the state and federal level. He is the President of the Law Office of Terry L. Johnson in Detroit, where he focuses on criminal defense, civil litigation, and firearms-related cases, including high-profile matters frequently covered in the media.
Lawrence Kosmalski is a MCOLES Certified Instructor with extensive experience in police response to mental health and cognitive conditions. He earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Lourdes University, a BA in Emergency and Disaster Mgt., and Co-Authored publication “Police Response to Mental Health” in 2025. He is a certified arson investigator and instructor for ASP, OC. PPCT, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed.
