Background Investigations for Michigan Police Applicants

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with useful information and resources that will assist them in conducting a thorough background investigation. Those attending will learn about contemporary strategies in completing a comprehensive, competency based pre-employment background investigation on police applicants.

  • Educational verification
  • Reference checks

  • Background investigation reports

Attendees are encouraged to bring to the class a blank copy of their own department’s background questionnaire for police applicants.

Instructor:  Steven Standfest has conducted pre-service background investigations on applicants for law enforcement positions across the state of Michigan. He has also conducted National Security background investigations for both military and civilian positions with the United States government.

Cost: LEORTC Licensed Members – Prepaid

LEORTC Non-Licensed Personnel – $35 p/p

Non-Member Agencies – $75 p/p
