Crowd Management/Mobile Field Force

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides law enforcement officers with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively manage crowds and operate within a Mobile Field Force during demonstrations, protests, civil disturbances, and other large-scale public events. Through classroom instruction, equipment familiarization, and hands-on practical exercises, participants will learn crowd management principles, legal considerations, protest response strategies, mobile field force formations and movements, arrest team operations, and mass arrest procedures.

The training addresses the increasing need for law enforcement agencies to respond safely and effectively to dynamic crowd-related incidents while maintaining public order, protecting constitutional rights, and reducing risks to officers and community members. Participants will develop proficiency in the deployment and use of crowd control equipment, coordinated squad tactics, and team-based operational responses necessary for modern crowd management operations.

INSTRUCTION HOURS: 4 hours

COURSE GOAL: Provide law enforcement officers with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to safely and effectively perform crowd management and mobile field force operations during demonstrations, civil disturbances, and other large-scale public order events.

AUDIENCE: Attendees will be sworn officers from in and around Genesee County.
